World Braille Day

One billion people around the world have some kind of disability that makes it harder for them to get health care, go to school, get a job, or be involved in their communities. Life under lockdown has affected the independence and isolation of the visually impaired, particularly those who communicate and access information through touch.

Since 2019, World Braille Day has been held to raise awareness of how important Braille is as a way for blind and partially sighted individuals to communicate and fully exercise their human rights.
